This meditative and melancholy work developed gradually as an improvisation, which I then consolidated and notated not long after Sept. 11, 2001, which led to the title.
This challenging solo requires extensive use of non-traditional techniques and fingerings for the khaen, and like many of my khaen pieces, incorporates structured improvisation.
